Honoring Your Solopreneur Spirit Without Sacrificing The Benefits Of A Professional Community with Kayla Walker

Honoring Your Solopreneur Spirit Without Sacrificing The Benefits Of A Professional Community with Kayla Walker

Recognizing YOUR optimal working environment and honoring your personal preference

Show notes

In this episode of The Beauty Solopreneur, Host and IBP Founder Lynzie Smith is talking with Kayla Walker, who, like so many of us, began experimenting with styling hair as early as her elementary school days. Now with over 18 years as a professional in the beauty industry, the last 10 of which have been independent, Kayla is now focusing on bringing education to rural areas. Kayla is helping small town stylists realize that their ZIP Code does not determine their value.

In going solo, Kayla learned that we will always need a network, regardless of the business model. Allowing vulnerability is imperative to seeking out the support you need, and a commitment to lifelong learning is a key to putting out your best work, forever. Going forward, Kayla is now shifting the focus of this passion to her fellow hairdresser, with a mission of elevating the industry by teaching and speaking directly to hairstylists.

Topics discussed:

  1. Recognizing YOUR optimal working environment and honoring your personal preference
  2. Healing the mentalities that may be holding you back from seeking the support you need
  3. The power and necessity of networking, and how to ensure you keep a support system even if you are choosing to work independently
