The Story Behind Independent Beauty Pros

This week's episode is a unique episode because it's the first time we have released a solo episode. Today, IBP Founder and CEO, Lynzie Smith, is opening up and sharing her experiences from every stage of her career and how Independent Beauty Pros came about. We are talking beauty school, mentorships, personal hardships, and the turning point in her professional path. In 2012, Lynzie launched her business as an Independent Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist. While navigating the process of Entrepreneurship in the Beauty Industry, Lynzie began offering Coaching Services and hosting Networking Events and Workshops to other Beauty Professionals looking to leave the traditional structure of Salons and Spas and become Independent. In the process, she learned so much from the Artists she was coaching. This led to the idea of launching a Platform designed specifically for the Solopreneur in the Beauty Industry, providing a space for all members to contribute their success stories, ask for support, learn from one another, and easily network with others who've shared a similar journey!

Independent Beauty Pros launched in April 2020, and quickly grew with a Community of Members of Independent Hair Stylists, Barbers, Makeup Artists, Manicurists, and Estheticians. IBP is inclusive to all Independent Artists, Educators, and Coaches in the Beauty Industry, because while the services offered may be different, the business requirements to be successful are the same. Creating this space for all Independent Artists also creates new opportunities for Cross Promotion and Referral. As the Founder of IBP, Lynzie truly appreciates the hard work that goes into successfully building a business. Her passion for Networking and Education creates a truly collaborative approach to promoting others, she sees herself on this platform as an IBP Member.
